Our popular Intuitive Painting classes are back in action. Monthly workshops will be offered during the first Saturday of each month beginning in September at The Meta Experience art studio in Washington, DC, conveniently located three blocks from Takoma Park metro station. These workshops are a blend of meditation, art, and creative expression. The classes help to develop artistic skills through a holistic creative process.
A second workshop, Chakra Restoration & Painting, has been added to the fall line up. This class focuses on balancing our energy system through meditation, art, yoga, breath work, and reflection. Participants are educated on ways to enhance areas of relationships, esteem, compassion, communication, and other core areas as it relates to the chakra system.
More information on these classes are found on the workshops page.

In other news, our Eastern Middle School mural is halfway complete, with two panels of the four panel mural project completed. I collaborated with students to design and paint this four-panel mural, portraying life at Eastern Middle School -- past, present, and future. We are still in need of funding to complete this project for the school. If you would like to donate or help raise funds for the completion of this mural, contact us to learn about how you can help.
The mural project was also featured in the Montgomery County Gazette. Check out the article link here. Below is a photo of the two completed panels of the mural project.

At the beginning of the summer school break, I lead a group of nineteen youth, ages 4-6, in a week long summer yoga camp that spanned seven hours a day. The camp was run through Captiol Hill Day School in Washington, DC. Students participated in yoga asanas, yoga games, meditation, mantras, kirtan, energy healing, pranayama, and more! What a treat -- this generation is growing up with yoga in their lives! We also went on a yoga retreat in nature, did art projects, had a guest nutrition and music presenter, and had a yoga party as the grand finale. Awesome! The parents were delighted to discover their children excited about such a healthy practice. Check out some of these photos from the summer camp.

The summer is ripe and so is the art! This is prime mural painting season for The Meta Experience. I am currently working on three mural projects this summer and am beginning a fourth mural in the fall. I am the mural artist for People Animals Love (PAL) at Stanton Elementary School in Washington, DC. I am creating an outdoor mural with youth that honors education, excellence, and community for their program. I am also the mural artist for Spiritual Essence Yoga and am completing my third mural for the holistic wellness center. Furthermore, I am finishing up a 100 foot mural project as the lead mural artist and coordinator with a group of dedicated teenagers at the Park View Recreation Center in Washington, DC. The mural is through The Latin American Youth Center Art + Media House with funding by the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities. The fourth mural will begin this fall at Eastern Middle School and will celebrate the Silver Spring, Maryland community and the school's legacy. To discover more about Meta Murals, view this link!
When I am not painting walls, I am painting canvases! I am embarking on a new artistic series that blends collage, abstraction, and representational expression. I am excited to build a new body of art. I have been working around the theme of women and ascension for about five years and am ready to try something different. Check out my previous artwork here!
And when I am not making the world beautiful through art, I am making the world beautiful through wellness! I am heading to Jamaica to facilitate yoga, reiki, and meditation workshops at the Divine Energy for Couples Retreat. If anyone is ready for a week by the beach, there is still room! Contact me to learn how you can join The Meta Experience in Jamaica and rediscover love in a prime rejuvenating location.
Feel free to e-mail me your thoughts and inquiry by filling out your information on the contact page. I would love to hear from you!

Love and Light! So happy that you have found The Meta Experience. I developed The Meta Experience as a way to share the joys that I have found through the visual and holistic healing arts. My goal has been to bring awareness and inspiration to those that visit my site, read my blog, take my classes, view my art, or get a holistic healing service. Little did I know that this business would made me grow in so many ways! It has allowed me to deepen my own practice and further my research in the various forms of holistic healing. It has also allowed me to connect with incredible people who are teaching me as much as I am teaching them. I hope you too will connect with me. Please fill out the contact form to let me know you have stopped by and leave a comment. I will be sure to keep you in the Meta loop!

Welcome to the newly revised website! This new site is reflective of The Meta Experience, the company I founded in efforts of spreading the message of light and healing throughout the world. I want to thank the Women Entrepreneur's of Baltimore for assisting me during my enrollment in the CORE Program this past fall. I took classes with them so that my artsy self can stay on top of my business game. I've been working as a professional visual artist and holistic practitioner since 2005, and so it is nice to now grow the business side of my practice. It's great to blend both worlds - the creative and the practical.
There are a lot of new exciting activities going on in 2010. First of all, the adult community classes I have been teaching over the last few years have cumulated in an official program. The Love MySelf Program is designed to develop the whole mind, body, spirit in fun meditative art classes. The program consists of the following 4-week workshops: Intuitive Painting, Meditation Intensive, and Light Consciousness. The Love MySelf Program is beginning March 11 at The Baltimore Yoga Village in Baltimore, MD. To learn more about this and to register, visit our Love MySelf Program page of the site.
Furthermore, I have been invited to exhibit my most recent works of art at Williams College in Williamstown, MA. The show will feature works from my Journey Woman series and will be displayed in the Multicultural Department's Jenness Building. The opening reception will be on April 20 and will include an open meditation and artist talk on the same date. For those of you local to New England, check out the show and pass the word along.
In addition, I look forward to working on leading a group of youth this spring in a 100-foot mural outside of the Parkview Recreation Center in Northwest Washington, DC. The mural is a part of a grant funded by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and received by the Latin American Youth Center. I serve as the guest mural artist and instructor for the project. I love beautifying neighborhoods and love it even more when the community and youth are involved!
